The last Bulgarian Tsar was called Boris III. He ruled from 1919 until 1943 when he died from a heart attack. There are speculations that he was poisoned but officially this was never acknowledged. But after his death, he was buried at this same place in the Rila Monastery – in the chapel of Saint Ioan – by his wish.
