In the old commercial center of old Sofia is located the largest Sephardic synagogue in the Balkans and in Europe. The name of the temple „Ahava ve Chesed” means “Love and Goodness” in Hebrew. In just 4 years the eminent Viennese architect Friedrich Gruenanger prepared a project, organized and completed the construction of the synagogue.
