Let's move on to the central part, built in the middle of the 13th century. This is the temple, also called Kaloyan's Church after its donor - Sevastocrator Kaloyan. The construction is typical for the so-called two-storey tombs-churches, as we have in the monastery in Bachkovo or in medieval Asenovgrad.
