The house of Lamartin, situated on Dzhambaz hill and not far away from the ancient theater, is one of the famous and intriguing houses in the old town. It was built in 1829 – 1830 for the rich local merchant of Greek origin – Georgi Mavridi. It is in a symmetric style, the so-called Bulgarian baroque – a typical representative of the Bulgarian Revival tendency.
